Rajshahi District Administration today held a preparatory meeting to finalize arrangements for observing July Mass Uprising Day-2026 and July Martyrs' Day-2026 with due dignity, solemnity and broad public participation. The meeting was held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's Office with Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Kazi Shahidul Islam in the chair.

Significance of the Event

Addressing the meeting, the deputy commissioner described the July Mass Uprising as a significant chapter in the country's democratic struggle and the people's quest for rights, marked by immense sacrifice. He emphasized that the observance of July Mass Uprising Day and July Martyrs' Day should help convey the nation's history, democratic values and the sacrifices of the martyrs to the younger generation.

Coordination and Security Measures

The DC directed all concerned departments to work in close coordination to ensure the successful implementation of the programmes. Superintendent of Police Mohammad Nayeem Hasan said the district police would take all necessary security measures to ensure the peaceful and orderly observance of the programmes, seeking cooperation from all concerned.

Healthcare and Logistical Arrangements

Civil Surgeon Dr. S.I.M. Rajiul Karim said adequate medical teams and healthcare support would remain on standby throughout the observance. The meeting also reviewed preparations relating to security, healthcare, cleanliness, public awareness and other logistical arrangements for the two observance days.
