In a significant crackdown on crime, Dhaka police arrested 485 individuals in various parts of the capital over the past 24 hours. According to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), 50 cases were filed during the anti-crime drives. These operations were part of routine efforts to maintain law and order in the city.
Breakdown of Arrests by Division
The arrests were distributed across different police divisions. Mirpur Division led with 125 arrests, followed by Tejgaon Division with 77, Gulshan Division with 57, Motijheel Division with 57, Lalbagh Division with 34, Ramna Division with 31, Uttara Division with 49, Wari Division with 46, and the Detective Branch (DB) with nine.
Seizures and Legal Proceedings
During these operations, police confiscated 4,295 pieces of yaba, 610 grams of marijuana, eight mobile phones, and Tk 1,24,000 in cash. Legal actions are currently being taken against those detained.
