A mobile court in Narsingdi sentenced a man to three months' simple imprisonment and fined him Tk 100 after recovering two yaba tablets from his possession in Madhabdi of the district. The accused was detained during an anti-drug drive in the Madhabdi area of Narsingdi Sadar upazila on Saturday afternoon. Following the recovery, the mobile court convicted him under the Narcotics Control Act, 2018. The court also ordered the seized yaba tablets to be destroyed. The prosecution was conducted by Madhabdi Police Station Sub-Inspector (Investigation) Mizanur Rahman. Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate of the Narsingdi district administration, Md. Khalid Hossain Shimul, carried out the mobile court.
