Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock Minister Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid has announced that the government will provide necessary support to farmers in five flood-affected districts of Chattogram to help them resume agricultural activities. Free paddy seeds and seedlings will be distributed to farmers in the affected areas, and all cattle will be vaccinated against foot-and-mouth disease within the next 15 days.
Government Initiatives for Flood-Affected Farmers
The minister made the announcement while addressing reporters after distributing paddy seeds and other supplies to affected farmers, fishermen, and others. He inaugurated the cattle vaccination initiative at Dohazari of Chandanaish. The government has also initiated a plan to establish alternate seedbeds by leasing land from farmers, with seedlings to be distributed within 15 to 20 days.
Long-Term Strategies and Immediate Measures
