The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 406 individuals and filed 50 cases during anti-crime operations across the capital over the past 24 hours. The arrests were made across various divisions of the city, with significant numbers from Mirpur and Tejgaon divisions. During the operations, police recovered a variety of items including narcotics, weapons, and suspected stolen goods.
Breakdown of Arrests by Division
The DMP provided a detailed breakdown of the arrests by division. Ramna Division saw 35 arrests, Lalbagh Division had 36, Wari Division recorded 31, Motijheel Division had 45, Tejgaon Division saw 59, Mirpur Division had the highest with 120, Gulshan Division recorded 32, Uttara Division had 43, and the Detective Branch (DB) made five arrests.
Recovered Items
During the operations, police recovered 1.215 kg of cannabis, 2,290 yaba tablets, 15 pieces of used aluminium door and window frame sections of various sizes, one knife, one anti-cutter, five mobile phones, one motorcycle, and Tk 8,350 in cash from the possession of the arrested individuals. These recoveries highlight the ongoing issue of drug trafficking and illegal activities in the city.
