A colorful rally was held in Rajshahi today to mark National Rural Development Day-2026, themed 'Developed Villages, Prosperous Country, Bangladesh First.' The event, organized by the Divisional Administration, District Administration, and the Divisional and District Offices of the Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB), saw guests inaugurate the rally by releasing balloons and festoons at the Divisional Commissioner's Office premises.
Key Figures in Attendance
Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu, MP, graced the event as the chief guest. Administrator of Rajshahi City Corporation Mahfuzur Rahman Riton attended as a special guest. The rally was presided over by Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Dr. A.N.M. Bazlur Rashid. Additional special guests included DIG of Rajshahi Range Mohammad Shahjahan and Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohammad Faizul Kabir.
Rally Procession and Discussion Meeting
The rally paraded through the city's main roads before concluding back at the Divisional Commissioner's Office. A discussion meeting followed in the conference room, where BRDB Joint Director Bokul Chandra Roy delivered the welcome speech. The meeting was attended by officials and employees from various government offices, BRDB officials, representatives of social and voluntary organizations, and distinguished persons.
