Chattogram City Mayor Dr Shahadat Hossain today stated that Chattogram city has not experienced waterlogging even during two days of continuous rain, thanks to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s personal monitoring and interventions. The Prime Minister has formed a strong committee to collaborate with all service organizations in Chattogram to resolve the longstanding issue of waterlogging.

During his visit to several key areas of the city, Mayor Shahadat carefully assessed the conditions of rainwater drainage, the flow of water in canals and drains, the status of hazardous locations, and the progress made by officials and employees in fulfilling their responsibilities. The officers and employees of the CCC's Conservancy and Engineering Department have been working diligently round the clock to achieve this objective. Regular maintenance of canals, drains, and ditches, along with the swift removal of obstacles impeding water flow and continuous monitoring, have ensured that the city has not experienced any significant waterlogging even after two days of rain.
