Dengue Death Toll Rises to 54 in Bangladesh with 153 New Cases in 24 Hours

The dengue outbreak shows no signs of abating as one more person died and 153 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours.

One more person has died from dengue in Bangladesh in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of dengue-related deaths this year to 54. Additionally, 153 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals during this period, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Regional Breakdown of New Cases

Of the newly admitted patients, 76 were from the Dhaka Division, 69 from the Chattogram Division, four from the Khulna Division, and four from the Barishal Division. No new dengue cases were reported in the country's other divisions during this period.

Current Hospitalization and Discharge Statistics

A total of 15,310 dengue patients have been hospitalized this year. Of these, 14,089 have been discharged after receiving treatment. Currently, 1,167 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals.
