State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Aninda Islam Amit has declared that any attempts to create division in the country or unrest in society by exploiting religion will be collectively resisted at the state and social levels. Speaking as the chief guest at a discussion organized by the Jashore district, Sadar upazila and municipality Puja Udjapan Parishad, Amit highlighted the importance of maintaining religious harmony and warned against the misuse of religion for political gain.
The discussion was held ahead of a rally at Munshi Meherullah Maidan in Jashore to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna. The State Minister inaugurated the event by leading the rendition of the national anthem and hoisting the national flag. He stressed that action would be taken against those who use religion for cheap political interests, regardless of their religious or political identity.
Amit emphasized that religion is a matter of people's faith and consciousness, and its use as a tool to gain unethical political advantage is undesirable. He drew parallels to the mass uprising of 2024, noting that it taught the importance of following the path of justice, much like Lord Krishna's birth in a prison in Mathura amid difficult times.
