Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Minister Abu Zafar Md. Zahid Hossain has underscored the necessity of tree plantation for maintaining environmental balance. Speaking at the inauguration of a three-day tree plantation campaign and fair in Nawabganj upazila, Dinajpur, he urged citizens to plant more trees for a greener future. The event, themed "Let’s decorate the country through tree plantation, Bangladesh first," aims to encourage the planting of fruit-bearing, forest, and medicinal trees.

Campaign and Fair Initiatives

The minister highlighted that tree fairs are being organized nationwide to promote tree planting. He encouraged people to utilize vacant spaces around their homes for planting saplings, noting the long-term benefits such as providing fruits, environmental protection, and medicinal support.

Government's Continuous Efforts

Dr. Zahid mentioned that the government is persistently working towards people's welfare, social security, and overall development. Following the inauguration, he also initiated repair and beautification work at the Nawabganj Upazila Parishad auditorium and distributed sewing machines, educational stipends, and financial assistance to beneficiaries under various government programs.
