Prince Harry, his wife Meghan, and their two children, Archie and Lilibet, will stay at royal residences during their first family visit to the UK in four years, scheduled for July. A source familiar with the matter confirmed that the family will reside in a combination of royal residences and private accommodations during their stay.
Royal Hospitality and Private Stays
The BBC reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be guests of King Charles III at an unspecified royal estate. This marks a change from previous visits where Harry declined accommodation on royal estates. The couple left Britain for North America in 2020 and stepped back from royal duties amid a bitter feud with the family.
Purpose of the Visit
Harry, 41, is visiting to mark the one-year countdown towards next year's Invictus Games, which he launched in 2014 for wounded veterans. He is also expected to attend engagements with his other charities during the multi-day visit.
Reconciliation and Security Concerns
Although Harry has expressed a desire to reconcile with his father, it remains unclear whether they will meet during this visit. The prince last met with his father, who is being treated for an undisclosed cancer, in September 2025. Harry has previously expressed concerns about his family's safety in the UK, particularly after losing a court case to have full police protection restored during UK visits last year.
Uncertain Security Arrangements
The security arrangements for July's visit remain unclear. The BBC reported that Buckingham Palace had not offered any extra security for the trip. This adds an element of uncertainty to the visit, given Harry's past concerns about safety.
