The first Inter-University Taekwondo Competition (Men and Women) is being held at Rajshahi University (RU). The competition was inaugurated by RU Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Mamunur Rashid, as special guest, this morning at the university gymnasium. The event was presided over by Prof Md. Arifur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and President of the Inter-University Games Sub-Committee.

Inauguration and Key Participants

Special guests Treasurer Prof Motiar Rahman, Syndicate Member Prof Rezaul Karim, and Member-Secretary of the Bangladesh Inter-University Sports Association Mahbubul Alam delivered speeches. Director of RU's Physical Education Department Roksana Begum gave the welcome address. After the inauguration, the Pro-VC (Education) exchanged greetings with the members of the participating teams. Among others present at the event were Proctor Prof Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Chairman of the Department of Philosophy Prof Md. Ariful Islam, hall provosts, and other relevant teachers and officials.

A total of 71 competitors are participating in the competition from the host RU, as well as University of Chittagong, Begum Rokeya University, Jashore University of Science and Technology, Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, and the National University. The event aims to foster sportsmanship and competition among university students.
