Ousmane Dembele, Lionel Messi's former Barcelona teammate and current PSG star, believes Messi can win another World Cup despite being 38 years old. Dembele, who recently won his second Champions League and Ballon d'Or with PSG, praised Messi in an interview with Spanish sports daily Marca. He highlighted Messi's continued ability and experience, stating that age has not diminished his skills. Dembele warned that Messi's qualities make him a constant threat and that teams must be cautious of his potential to win the tournament single-handedly.
Dembele noted that while France is considered a favorite, the favorite tag holds little value in football. He emphasized the importance of focusing on group stage matches. France will start their World Cup campaign against Senegal, with Iraq and Norway as their other group opponents. Argentina, the current World Cup champions, will begin their title defense against Algeria, with Austria and Jordan as their other group rivals.
