The previous board of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has requested the International Cricket Council (ICC) not to recognize the upcoming BCB election, scheduled for June 7. The request was made during a meeting with ICC representatives Dr. Mohammad Moosajee and Tavengwa Mukuhlani.
The meeting was attended by the previous board's directors Asif Akbar, Ahsan Iqbal Chowdhury, M Nazmul Islam, and Hasanuzzaman. They also demanded that the ICC representatives clarify that they are not election observers.
The ICC representatives had previously met with the BCB's interim committee, led by Tamim Iqbal and Fahim Sinha. The BCB's previous board claims that the ICC team is in Dhaka to review the current governance structure, not to observe the election.
