Nasirudding Patwari, chief coordinator of the National Citizen Party (NCP), recounted a violent attack by BNP and allied groups in Jhenaidah on Friday. Patwari described being hit by eggs, stones, and weapons after leaving the old Collectorate Jame Mosque following Friday prayers.
At a press conference held at the NCP's temporary central office in Banglamotor, Dhaka, Patwari detailed the incident. He accused BNP, Chhatra Dal, and Juba Dal activists, along with police, of launching a coordinated attack. Patwari also criticized the government, alleging a lack of law and order and accusing it of acting like a 'Rakhi Bahini'.
Patwari further expressed concerns about the country's security situation, border security, and drug trafficking. He called for strengthening the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and launching a nationwide campaign against drugs.
NCP spokesperson Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan and joint secretary Alauddin Mohammad were also present at the press conference.
