In a recent reception, Lawmaker Fahmida Haque of the reserved seat for Khulna-2 and Khulna-6 expressed her commitment to ensuring equitable development across the country under Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. Fahmida pledged to raise the concerns of the neglected Khulna region in the Jatiya Sangsad and support the Khulna Development Authority (KDA) in their projects. She assured that she would advocate for development projects and present the demands of Khulna residents to the Prime Minister.
Fahmida's commitment was highlighted during a reception hosted by the KDA at a city hotel, where she was welcomed by KDA Chairman Advocate S.M. Shafiqul Alam Mona. The chairman briefed Fahmida on ongoing and planned development projects and emphasized their joint commitment to Khulna's growth. Other key officials present included KDA Member (Estate) Md. Iqbal Hossain, Member (Development) Ruhul Amin Qutubuddin Ahmad, Acting Chief Engineer Kazi Sabirul Alam, and Acting Deputy Director (Administration) Md. Ejadur Rahman.
The lawmaker emphasized her dedication to securing development projects for Khulna, stating, 'I will do everything necessary at the ministry level to secure development projects for Khulna and present the demands of the people of Khulna to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.' This assurance reflects her commitment to improving the socio-economic conditions in the region and ensuring that Khulna's needs are addressed at the highest level of government.
The reception provided an opportunity for Fahmida to engage with KDA officials and understand the authority's initiatives better. This engagement is crucial for Fahmida to effectively represent the region's interests in parliament and facilitate collaborative efforts between the government and local authorities. Fahmida's proactive approach underscores the importance of equitable development and the role of lawmakers in advocating for regional needs.
By promising support for Khulna's development projects and voicing the region's concerns in the Jatiya Sangsad, Fahmida Haque aims to contribute to Bangladesh's overall equitable development. Her commitment reflects the broader goal of ensuring that all regions of the country benefit from government initiatives, fostering inclusive growth and addressing regional disparities.
