Five more children have died from suspected measles in Bangladesh, according to a press release by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). The total number of deaths from suspected measles has now reached 730 since the outbreak began on March 15. In the last 24 hours, 992 suspected measles cases were recorded, raising the total number of suspected cases to 124,745.
During the same 24-hour period, 113 confirmed measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 15,555. Since the outbreak, 107,654 suspected measles patients have been admitted to hospitals, with 103,467 recovering and being discharged.
No deaths from confirmed measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours. The total number of deaths from confirmed measles cases remains at 95. The ongoing outbreak has put a strain on the country's healthcare system, with efforts ongoing to control the spread and provide necessary medical care.
