In the past 24 hours, four more children have died with measles symptoms across Bangladesh, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). During the same period, 1,051 people were infected with measles or measles-like symptoms. Notably, no child died from laboratory-confirmed measles in the past day. With these latest deaths, 693 children have now died with measles symptoms nationwide since March 15. Additionally, 95 people have died from confirmed measles, making the combined death toll from confirmed measles and measles symptoms 788.

The DGHS reported that 113 new confirmed measles cases were recorded in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 14,431 between March 15 and July 19. During this period, a total of 100,037 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals across the country. Of these, 96,521 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

The ongoing measles outbreak has put a significant strain on the country's healthcare system. Health officials are working tirelessly to contain the spread of the disease and provide necessary treatment to those affected. Vaccination campaigns have been intensified to protect vulnerable populations, particularly children, who are most at risk.

Measles is a highly contagious viral disease that can lead to severe health complications, especially in young children. Symptoms include fever, cough, runny nose, and a distinctive rash. The disease can be prevented through vaccination, which is why health authorities are urging parents to ensure their children are immunized.

The DGHS continues to monitor the situation closely and provide updates to the public. Health experts stress the importance of maintaining high vaccination coverage to prevent further outbreaks and protect public health.
