LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today emphasized the critical role of doctors in developing a stronger and more people-oriented healthcare system. Speaking as the chief guest at the First Health Cadre Day 2026, organized by the BCS Health Cadre Association, the minister noted the inadequate number of doctors relative to the population and the shortages of personnel and infrastructure in government hospitals.
Collaboration for Effective Health Sector
Fakhrul stressed the need for collaboration between the government and medical professionals to enhance the effectiveness of the health sector. He pointed out the longstanding irregularities that have affected the sector and reiterated the government's commitment to establishing a modern, people-friendly healthcare system.

The minister urged doctors serving at the upazila and district levels to remain dedicated to their posts and provide responsible healthcare services. He also emphasized the importance of ensuring a safe working environment for doctors, promising that the government would consider the legitimate demands of medical professionals. Fakhrul assured continued support in advancing the health sector and addressing the challenges faced by doctors.
