The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has provided free medical treatment to 1,077 underprivileged individuals in the rugged shoals or silt islands of the Padma River within the Chapainawabganj frontier. The medical camp, organized by the 53 BGB, also treated 186 livestock through a veterinary campaign.
Humanitarian Effort in Remote Areas
Lieutenant Colonel Kazi Mustafizur Rahman, Commanding Officer of 53 BGB, stated that the camp was part of their humanitarian obligation to assist underprivileged people in remote areas. Communication and other obstacles prevent these individuals from accessing better medical facilities.
The medical camp, which ran from 9 AM to 2.30 PM at Mahmuda Matiullah High School ground in Narayanpur Union under Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila, was conducted by eight specialist doctors with expertise in medicine, gynecology, and ophthalmology.

The initiative not only provided essential healthcare services but also highlighted the BGB's commitment to community welfare beyond their routine duties. Distinguished individuals from the neighborhood witnessed the campaign, underscoring its significance.
The BGB's efforts in providing medical and veterinary services to remote "char" or shoals of the erosion-prone Padma River frontier areas demonstrate a proactive approach to addressing the healthcare needs of marginalized communities.
