State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam today praised the sincerity and coordinated efforts of city corporation administrators, stating that these have significantly accelerated dengue prevention activities. Alam emphasized that the appointment of administrators under the Prime Minister's leadership has revitalized field operations and enhanced the effectiveness of anti-dengue campaigns.

Speaking at a virtual meeting of the task force on the prevention of dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases, Alam highlighted the importance of destroying Aedes mosquito breeding sites and strengthening cleanliness drives. He called for greater participation from voluntary organizations, educational institutions, and local communities in awareness campaigns alongside government initiatives.

Alam urged sanitation workers to play a more responsible and proactive role in maintaining urban cleanliness. He also called on citizens to keep their homes, educational institutions, construction sites, and surrounding environments clean. Regular inspections of under-construction buildings and awareness programs in educational institutions were emphasized.

The Local Government Division recently formed a task force to implement the decisions of the national committee on dengue prevention at the field level, ensuring effective coordination among relevant agencies and overseeing overall prevention activities. As part of these efforts, nationwide cleanliness campaigns, public awareness programs, and special drives to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds are being conducted.
