Malayalam actor Salim Kumar, celebrated for his comedic roles and viral memes, passed away on June 7 at the age of 56. He had been suffering from liver complications for a long time and had undergone a liver transplant a few years ago. His unique style of dialogue delivery, facial expressions, and acting made him a beloved figure in Malayalam cinema and social media.
Born on October 10, 1969, in North Paravur, Kerala, Salim Kumar showed a keen interest in acting and entertainment from a young age. He completed his higher education at Maharajas College in Ernakulam. His acting career began as a mimicry artist, performing at cultural events organized by Kalabhavan, a popular cultural institution in Kerala.
Salim Kumar's exceptional comic timing and ability to create spontaneous dialogues quickly made him popular. He made his film debut in 1997 with 'Ishtam Nurayum Vattam' and gained widespread recognition for his role in 'Satyameva Jayati' (2000). His performance in 'Adaminte Makan Abu' (2010) earned him the National Film Award for Best Actor, shared with Dhanush.
