In a heartwarming act of support, State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam has taken full responsibility for covering the admission and higher education expenses of Shafiul Islam Nirab, a talented student from Mahasthan village in Shibganj upazila of Bogura district. Nirab, who secured admission with distinction to the Department of Gender and Development Studies at Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur, faced the risk of not enrolling due to his family's financial difficulties.
After learning about Nirab's situation, Alam immediately looked into the matter and invited him for a meeting. At the office of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) in Shibganj, the state minister handed over the necessary financial assistance for Nirab's university admission.
Alam also pledged to bear all of Nirab's future educational expenses. Expressing his heartfelt gratitude, Nirab said the support had made it possible for him to pursue higher education. He hopes to work for the welfare of the country and society in the future.
Nirab's journey to Begum Rokeya University highlights the challenges many talented students face due to financial constraints. Alam's intervention not only secured Nirab's admission but also provided a beacon of hope for other students in similar situations.
The state minister's commitment to supporting meritorious students underscores the importance of accessible higher education and the role of public officials in fostering academic excellence.
