Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury today inaugurated a programme to plant 10,000 saplings in Magura district. This initiative is part of the Prime Minister's visionary plan to plant 25 crore trees over the next five years. The minister inaugurated the programme by planting an olive sapling at Magura Police Lines, in an event jointly organized by the district police and Greenview Social Development.
Environmental and Cultural Significance
The minister emphasized that tree plantation is crucial for maintaining environmental balance and building a habitable, beautiful Bangladesh for future generations. He highlighted the fusion of culture and nature as a reflection of a prosperous nation. The minister called upon people from all walks of society to support this government initiative.

The event was chaired by Magura Police Superintendent Molla Azad Hossain. Notable attendees included Khulna Range DIG Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Magura Deputy Commissioner Motakabbir Ahmed, Administrator of Magura District Council Ali Ahmmed, President of Magura Municipal BNP Md.
