Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu laid the foundation stone for a modern indoor stadium in Rajshahi, highlighting its significance in transforming the city into a prosperous metropolis. The initiative, driven by the Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC), aims to provide modern sports facilities and enhance the city's development.

Vision for Modern Rajshahi

Speaking at the ceremony, Minu praised the ongoing development activities of RCC, noting that they are among the most advanced in Bangladesh. He emphasized the improved law and order situation in Rajshahi, comparing it favorably to other major cities. The minister assured that all lands under the Ministry of Land in the Rajshahi metropolitan area will be quickly handed over to RCC for further development.

Facilities and Funding

The indoor stadium, to be constructed on 0.3100 acres of land at a cost of Taka 89.06 lakh, will offer modern facilities for basketball and various other indoor sports. Funded by the Rajshahi City Corporation, the project reflects the city's commitment to providing modern amenities for its citizens. The event was presided over by RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, with several officials and political leaders in attendance.

The ceremony included the planting of tree saplings by Minu, Riton, and Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner Foyzul Kabir, symbolizing the commitment to environmental sustainability alongside urban development.
