BUFT Hosts Two-Day Event for World Environment Day

BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) organized a two-day event on June 10-11 to mark World Environment Day.

BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) organized a two-day event on June 10-11 to mark World Environment Day. The event, a joint initiative of the Department of Environmental Science and the University's Science and Environment Club, aimed to raise environmental awareness, promote sustainable development, and increase public engagement in addressing climate change. Activities included tree planting, a rally, a spongomi tournament, roundtable discussions, and the signing of a memorandum of understanding between BUFT and four environmental organizations. Awards were also given to winners of various competitions.

The chief guest was Faruk Hasan, Chairman of the University's Board of Trustees. The event was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Ayub Nabi Khan. Other attendees included Board of Trustees member Mohammad Nasir, Acting Vice-Chancellor and Treasurer Professor Mohammad Alamgir Hossain, Chairman of the National Committee for the Protection of Life, Nature, and Environment Shafiqul Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Science Professor Mohammad Abdul Jalil, Registrar Mohammad Rafiquzzaman, deans of various faculties, department heads, teachers, officials, and students.
