The Secondary and Higher Education Department of Mymensingh has issued new guidelines mandating that all government and private secondary and lower secondary schools in the Mymensingh region use exam papers prepared by their own teachers for internal exams. This directive, signed by Deputy Director Moha. Nasir Uddin on June 3, 2026, aims to prevent the use of guide books, notebooks, or other external sources for exam questions.

The notice emphasizes that teachers must independently create question papers for mid-term, annual, pre-selection, and selection exams. Using questions from other sources is strictly prohibited. The department expressed concern over recent allegations of some institutions using external sources for exams, which undermines the quality and evaluation system of education.

The directive also instructs all institution heads to strictly adhere to these guidelines. District education officers, upazila secondary education officers, and relevant education administration officials have been requested to take necessary measures to implement these instructions. Education stakeholders believe this directive will enhance teachers' responsibility in question paper preparation and reduce dependency on guides and notebooks, thereby improving the quality of education and encouraging students' creative thinking and textbook-based studies.
