Mo. Wasim Jabber has assumed the role of treasurer at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), succeeding Khandaker Mo. Iftekhar Haider. He joined the position on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. Prior to this, Jabber served over 32 years in the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) administration cadre, holding various significant positions in public administration, financial management, government procurement, institutional management, and policy implementation.
His most recent role was Deputy Team Leader at the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ILO-ITCILO) in Turin, Italy, for the Digitizing Implementation Monitoring and Public Procurement Project–Capacity Development and Professionalization (DIMAPP-CDP).
Jabbar has also served as Director General (Additional Secretary) at the Bangladesh Petroleum Institute (BPI), Director at the Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority (BCA), Director (Training and Education) at the Bangladesh Institute of Administration and Management (BIAM), and Chief Revenue Officer at the Chittagong City Corporation.
He holds a Masters in Procurement and Supply Management from BRAC University, an Executive MBA in Human Resource Management from the University of Science and Technology Chittagong (USTC), and a Bachelor's and Master's in Marketing from the University of Dhaka. He has also completed diplomas in procurement and supply from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) UK.
Jabbar has been a part-time faculty member at BRAC University since 2017 and is a national trainer for the Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA). He is a member of CIPS UK and a life member of the Institute of Management Consultants Bangladesh.
