Government Appoints New Chairmen to Five Education Boards and NCTB

The government has announced significant changes in the leadership of several key educational institutions.

The government has appointed new chairmen to five education boards and the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB). The appointments were announced in separate notifications by the Ministry of Education on Monday.

Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, previously the Examinations Controller at Mymensingh Education Board, has been appointed as the new Chairman of Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board. Khandaker Ehsanul Kabir, the former Chairman of Dhaka Education Board, has been attached to Dhaka College.

Other appointments include Professor Farukhe Azm Mu. Abdus Salam as the new Chairman of Jessore Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Shamim Ara Chowdhury as the Chairman of Rajshahi Board, and Professor Mohammad Fakrrul Mowla as the Chairman of NCTB.

NCTB has been without a regular Chairman for a long time, with an Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Education performing the duties in an additional capacity.
