The Education Ministry has directed local Members of Parliament (MPs) to serve as chief guests at the district and upazila level 'Startup, Science Project and Innovation Idea Showcasing' competitions. This instruction was given in a letter dated June 3, 2026, from the Secondary and Higher Education Division. The letter emphasized the importance of involving local representatives to ensure the success and vitality of these events.

These science and innovation fairs are organized under the 'Educational Excellence Support Scheme' (EESS), previously known as the 'Performance-Based Grants for Secondary Institutions' (PBGSI). The aim is to foster scientific thinking and innovative capabilities among students.

The ministry's directive also requested district administrators (DC) and upazila executive officers (UNO) to make necessary arrangements for the MPs' attendance. Copies of the directive were sent to the Prime Minister's Office, the Education Minister, the Secretary, and other relevant departments.
