The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations, initially scheduled for July 13, 15, and 16, have been postponed for the Chattogram Education Board and the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board and Bangladesh Technical Education Board in areas under its jurisdiction. However, examinations under all other general education boards, as well as the Madrasah and Technical Education Boards outside the Chattogram Board's jurisdiction, will proceed as per the previously announced schedule.
Postponement Details
According to a press release issued by Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, Chairman of the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board and President of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, the HSC and equivalent examinations under the Dhaka, Rajshahi, Cumilla, Jashore, Sylhet, Barishal, Dinajpur, and Mymensingh education boards will continue as scheduled. This also includes examinations conducted by the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board and the Bangladesh Technical Education Board, excluding districts under the Chattogram Education Board.
Affected Examinations
The release further stated that the HSC and equivalent examinations under the Chattogram Education Board, covering all districts under its jurisdiction, will remain suspended on July 13, 15, and 16. This includes Alim, HSC (BMT), HSC (Vocational), and Diploma in Commerce examinations conducted by the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board and the Bangladesh Technical Education Board in those districts.
Why This Matters
The suspension of examinations for the Chattogram Board is significant as it affects a large number of students in the region. This decision ensures that the safety and well-being of students are prioritized, especially in light of any unforeseen circumstances that may have necessitated the postponement. For students under other boards, the continuation of exams as scheduled provides a sense of normalcy and allows them to proceed with their academic commitments without disruption.
Next Steps
Students and educational institutions under the Chattogram Board should stay informed about any further announcements regarding the rescheduled dates for their examinations. Meanwhile, students from other boards are encouraged to continue their preparations and adhere to the examination schedule. The education authorities will likely provide updates and additional information as the situation evolves.
