The government will provide PhD fellowships and grants for researchers admitted or currently studying in PhD courses at government universities for the 2026-27 academic year. This initiative is under the Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust. A notification published on May 6 by the Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust invites eligible researchers to apply according to the 'Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust PhD Fellowship and Grant Provision Guidelines, 2022'.
Interested researchers must apply online through the website www.eservice.pmeat.gov.bd/phd. The application deadline is June 11 at 11:59 PM.
Applicants must have a minimum of two first-class divisions in their academic career. They must have a minimum GPA of 3.50 on a 5.00 scale or 3.00 on a 4.00 scale. Additionally, applicants must be a maximum of 45 years old at the time of application submission.
During the online application process, applicants must upload copies of all educational qualification certificates and mark sheets, proof of admission or registration in the PhD course, a research proposal (in Bengali or English), and certification from the departmental head and supervisor.
For applicants employed in government, semi-government, or autonomous institutions, a copy of approval from the relevant authority must be attached to the application.
After completing the online application, the form must be downloaded and submitted with two sets of documents by mail or in person to the Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust office by the specified deadline. The address is House No. 44, Road No. 12/A, Dhanmondi, Dhaka-1209.
