Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister ANM Ehasanul Haque Milan stated that the current fiscal year has seen the highest allocation for the education sector. He highlighted that their ministry is the largest and they will continue to increase the allocation step by step.
Speaking as the chief guest at a cultural event and graduation dinner at the Shahid Yamin Auditorium of the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) in Mirpur, Dhaka, Milan emphasized that the future development of Bangladesh lies in the education sector.
The Minister noted that there is no alternative to investing maximally in education for the development of human resources, achieving competence in international competition, and transforming the population into an asset. He said, 'Our country is a land of vast resources and beauty. Why should we lag behind? We are lagging in one area, and that is education. If we can develop the education sector, Bangladesh will certainly move forward in global competition.'
Milan also stressed the importance of technical and vocational education in building a skilled workforce. He mentioned the potential for Bangladesh to become a regional center for higher education or a 'cross-border education hub,' with many high-quality universities showing interest in operating in Bangladesh.
