At least 15 Bangladeshi students are currently holding significant leadership positions in various UK universities' student unions. These students are ensuring student rights, welfare, and representation. Their success is seen as a reflection of their leadership qualities and capabilities.
Among them, Naeem Hasan from Noakhali's Companiganj has been elected as the Vice President of Anglia Ruskin University's London Campus Student Union. Khadija Hossain Orla serves as the Vice President (Education) at the University of the West of England (UWE) Bristol Students' Union. Shayek Hasan from Kushtia is the President of the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) Epsom Campus Students' Union.
Other notable positions include Irfan Rahman as President of the University of South Wales Students' Union, Iffat Jahan as Welfare and Diversity Officer at the University of Gloucestershire Students' Union, and Saif Molla Chanchal as Vice President of Greenwich University Students' Union. BM Rahat Mubashshir has been elected as Vice President (Education) at the University of South Wales, receiving the highest votes in history.
Rajya Mondol is the President of London Metropolitan University Students' Union, and Nahid Bint Islam serves as Vice President (Activities and Opportunities). Nafi Hasan Khan has been re-elected as President of Brunel University London Students' Union. Saumitra Pal is the Vice President (Equity and Welfare) at London Metropolitan University Students' Union.
Zubayer Ahmed has been elected as the first Bangladeshi President of the University of Hertfordshire Students' Union. Muhtasim Sadat Nvir serves as an Aspects Officer and Board of Trustee member at the same university. Hafsa Azmari Farju from Sylhet's Fenchuganj has been elected as Vice President of Wrexham University Students' Union. M Imam Hossain is the Vice President (Welfare) at the University of South Wales Students' Union.
Naeem Hasan expressed his desire to use his leadership experience to bring positive change to society, aiming for a society based on equality, justice, and sustainability. Khadija Hossain Orla shared her vision of using her experience in student leadership to bring positive change in education, social justice, and public policy, with a dream of contributing to education and social development in Bangladesh in the future.
