The government has announced plans to enhance safe housing and transportation for female workers. As part of this initiative, a special 'Pink Bus Service' will be launched, operated entirely by female drivers and managed by women. This announcement was made by Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury during the presentation of the national budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 in the Jatiya Sangsad on Thursday.

The Finance Minister stated that the government will implement a 'zero tolerance' policy against any form of violence or sexual harassment towards female workers and employees in the workplace. He noted that the introduction of the Pink Bus will make transportation for female workers and employees safer and more comfortable.

Additionally, the government has announced the establishment of 'Employment Exchange' centers at the district and upazila levels to create job opportunities based on merit and qualifications. The Finance Minister mentioned that the government has already issued the 'Bangladesh Labor (Amendment) Act, 2026' to increase legal protection for workers. Furthermore, a draft of the 'National Action Plan 2026-2030' has been prepared to permanently eliminate child labor from the country.
