RAJSHAHI – The Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) Divisional Office in Rajshahi conducted a mobile court drive and fined an establishment Tk 8,000 in the Kumarpara Alupotti area of the city for producing and selling cakes without authorization. The fined establishment, Cake Bright, was found to be operating in extremely unhygienic conditions and using non-food-grade materials. The operation lacked the necessary BSTI Certification Mark (CM) license.

Unhygienic and Unauthorized Operations

During the drive, Cake Bright was fined Tk 8,000 for producing, selling, and distributing decorated cakes, commonly known as birthday cakes, under highly unsanitary conditions. The establishment was using materials not approved for food production, posing significant health risks to consumers.

Mobile Court and Law Enforcement

The mobile court was conducted by Md. Shahriar Islam Nasif, Executive Magistrate of the Rajshahi District Administration. Engineer Junaid Ahmed, an official of the Certification Marks Wing of the BSTI Divisional Office, Rajshahi, served as the prosecutor. Members of the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police were present during the operation to ensure compliance and safety.
