Body of 13-Year-Old Girl Found in Bagerhat, Investigation Underway

The body of a 13-year-old girl, missing since morning, was recovered from a water-filled gher in Bagerhat.

The body of 13-year-old Jannati, a local resident of Kodalia Dakshinpara in Bagerhat, was found in a water-filled gher near her home on August 7, 2026. Jannati, who had been living with her grandmother, went missing after leaving home in the morning and was later found by her family. The Mollahat Police are conducting an investigation, and the body has been sent to the Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Jannati, the daughter of a Saudi expatriate, was last seen leaving her home around 7:30 AM. She had been sleeping with her grandmother prior to going outside. Her family started searching for her and eventually found her body floating in a nearby gher. It is suspected that she might have gone missing while picking dates.
