Prime Minister Directs Flood Relief Efforts in Chattogram: State Minister Iqbal Hossain

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief M Iqbal Hossain stated that the Prime Minister has been monitoring the overall situation in Chattogram since the onset of the disaster. The Prime Minister is fully aware of the requirements and the locations in need, and the government is prioritizing efforts to provide essential assistance to those affected by the floods, he remarked.

Relief Distribution Event

Iqbal Hossain made these comments while serving as the chief guest at a relief distribution event for flood-affected individuals in the Rashidar Pukurpar area of Nazirhat Municipality in Fatikchhari Upazila today. Earlier, State Minister M Iqbal Hossain visited the flood-impacted regions of Fatikchhari Upazila. During this visit, he assessed the erosion situation of the Halda River and distributed relief supplies to the families in need.

Continuous PM Guidance

The State Minister for Relief emphasized that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has been providing continuous guidance since the natural disaster commenced. He said the Prime Minister stated that it is essential to identify the needs of the people and implement appropriate measures.

"He is closely monitoring the situation of those affected by the floods, keeping watch around the clock. Yesterday, the PM instructed me to visit the area, assess their needs, and report back. Following that directive, I am here with you today," he added.

Government Commitment

He also mentioned that the government's objective is to provide necessary support by standing alongside those impacted by the disaster. "The government is committed to assisting you in any calamity," he remarked. Iqbal Hossain emphasized that the government is prepared to offer whatever assistance is required.

Collaborative Efforts

The state minister further noted that the local administration and relevant departments are collaborating effectively to address the flood crisis. State Minister M Iqbal Hossain affirmed that the government will persist in providing all necessary aid to ease the hardships faced by the flood-affected individuals. Additionally, the government will initiate necessary measures for the rehabilitation of those impacted.

Sarwar Alamgir, MP, Fatikchari UNO Sayed Mohammad Ibrahim, local BNP leader Zahir Azam Chowdhury, local public representatives, and officials from the administration were present at the relief distribution event. Following the ceremony, the State Minister distributed relief supplies to the families affected by the floods and checked on their well-being.
