Natore has introduced a fast and affordable Speed Postal Service at the main post office, aiming to deliver documents and parcels to the capital within 24 hours and any destination across the country within 48 hours. The service, which primarily facilitates the transportation of seasonal fruits, charges only Taka 10 for the first kilogram and Taka 5 for each additional kilogram. Customers can also track their parcels, minimizing the risk of lost shipments or delays.

Efficient and Economical Service

The Speed Postal Service offers a cost-effective alternative to private courier services. Al Amin, a teacher at Dhakopara Qawmi Madrasa, sent a 23-kg consignment of mangoes to Barguna, which arrived within 44 hours. He noted that the post office's service was more convenient and cheaper than previous courier services he had used.

Positive Reception and Future Prospects

Md. Shahidul Haque Sarkar, President of the Natore Press Club, highlighted the benefits of the new service, emphasizing its affordability and tracking facilities. He believes it will be a dependable option for sending important documents. Kamrul Islam, General Secretary of the Natore Press Club, stressed the need for wider publicity to increase public awareness.

Secure and Reliable Transportation

Postal Operator Md. Kamruzzaman explained that three Mail and Sorting Offices in Dhaka, Ishwardi, and Santahar handle the transportation of Speed Postal Consignments. Parcels for northern districts are sent by train to Santahar, while those for southern regions are transported by postal department vehicles to Ishwardi. Consignments for Dhaka and other areas are processed through the capital.

Restoring Confidence in Postal Services

Postmaster Shafiqul Islam expressed hope that the Speed Postal Service would restore public confidence in the postal system. He assured that the parcel transportation is highly secured, allowing people to use the service with complete peace of mind.
