Manikganj district observed July Shaheed Day with great enthusiasm today. The event, organized by the Manikganj District Administration, Manikganj Zilla Parishad, student organizations, and political parties, commemorated Abu Sayeed, the first martyr of the 2024 student-led quota reform movement, and all those who lost their lives during the July Uprising.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Manikganj Nazmun Ara Sultana placed a wreath at the July Smriti Stambha in the Manora area of the Manikganj bus stand. Officials of the Deputy Commissioner's Office, other government officials, and leaders and activists of political parties also placed floral wreaths on the occasion.

A discussion was held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's Office in Manikganj. Deputy Commissioner Nazmun Ara Sultana presided over the event. Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Sarwar Alam, Manikganj Zilla Parishad Administrator Advocate Jamilur Rashid Khan, Manikganj Press Club President Zahangir Alam Biswas, and the parents and relatives of the district's martyrs spoke on the occasion.
