The Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) arrested a man with 1,000 contraband yaba tablets from a passenger bus in Baiddyopara on the Dhaka-Barishal highway last night. The arrestee, Md Zihad Sarker, 24, son of Sabuj Sarder of Adhona village in Gouranadi upazila, was caught following a tip-off. A DNC team raided a Barishal-bound bus named ‘Golden Line’ in the area and apprehended Zihad with the drugs. A case has been filed in this connection.
Raid and Arrest
Acting on a tip-off, a DNC team conducted a raid on a passenger bus traveling from Dhaka to Barishal. The bus, named ‘Golden Line,’ was intercepted in Baiddyopara. During the search, the officers found 1,000 yaba tablets in Zihad Sarker's possession.
Legal Action
Following the arrest, a case was filed against Zihad Sarker. The DNC is now investigating the source and destination of the yaba tablets, as well as any possible connections to larger drug networks.

Yaba, a combination of methamphetamine and caffeine, is a highly addictive drug. It is commonly smuggled and sold in various parts of Bangladesh. The DNC has been actively working to curb the spread of yaba and other narcotics in the region.
