The Bangladesh Consulate General in Istanbul observed 'July Martyrs’ Day 2026' with due solemnity, paying profound tribute to those who sacrificed their lives during the July Mass Uprising. The event was attended by Bangladeshi professionals, expatriate community members, and Consulate General officials and their families.

The observance began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the reading of messages from the President and the Prime Minister. A discussion was held highlighting the importance and significance of July Martyrs’ Day.

Addressing the gathering, the Consul General prayed for the eternal peace of the martyrs and called upon all Bangladeshis to uphold the spirit of the uprising, transform grief into strength, and contribute to building a developed and prosperous Bangladesh.

During an open discussion, members of the Bangladeshi community emphasized the significance of the day and recalled the sacrifices and contributions of the martyrs of the July Mass Uprising. They also called for the implementation of the July Charter and pledged to present the heroic legacy to the international community.

The program concluded with a special prayer and munajat seeking eternal peace for the departed souls of the martyrs. July Martyrs' Day holds profound significance for Bangladesh, commemorating the sacrifices made during the July Mass Uprising and reinforcing the nation's commitment to its values and future.
