Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in parts of Barishal and Chattogram divisions over the next 24 hours, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD). Rain and thundershowers are forecast across the country, with the highest likelihood of severe weather in the southern regions.

The BMD weather bulletin issued this morning indicates that light to moderately heavy rain and thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds, are likely in most places over Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions. Many places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, and Sylhet divisions are also expected to experience rain.

Day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged. The highest temperature recorded on Tuesday was 33.8 degrees Celsius in Sreemangal, while the lowest today was 23.5 degrees Celsius in Sylhet. Hatiya recorded the highest rainfall in the past 24 hours, with 50 millimetres.

The sun will set at 6:47pm today and rise at 5:23am tomorrow in Dhaka. The BMD's forecast highlights the need for preparedness in the affected regions to mitigate potential impacts of the heavy rainfall.
