In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested two alleged drug dealers along with 11,800 yaba tablets in the capital's Uttara area. The operation, conducted at around 12:05 pm today at Abdullahpur, also recovered Taka 10,000 in cash from the suspects. The arrested individuals, Md Liton, 42, and Md Kamrul Hasan, 30, are believed to be active members of a professional drug trafficking syndicate.

The DMP's media and public relations division disclosed that the operation was meticulously planned to target drug activities in the area. The police recovered 11,800 yaba tablets and Taka 10,000 in cash from the possession of the two suspects. The bust was carried out following intelligence reports about the suspects' involvement in drug trafficking.
Previous Records and Admissions
According to Uttara police, Kamrul Hasan had a prior case pending with Uttara West Police Station, while Md Liton had two previous cases against him. During preliminary interrogation, both suspects reportedly admitted that they had stored the yaba tablets for selling purposes. Legal proceedings against the accused are currently underway.
