Dhaka Police Arrest 516 Crime Suspects in 24-Hour Anti-Crime Operation

Dhaka Metropolitan Police have conducted a significant anti-crime operation, resulting in the arrest of 516 suspects.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 516 crime suspects during routine drives across the capital over the last 24 hours. According to a DMP statement, 40 criminal cases were filed during this period. The operation led to the recovery of 2,231 yaba tablets, 11 kg of marijuana, six mobile phone sets, two foreign-made pistols, two magazines, six rounds of bullets, and cash amounting to Tk 10,150. Additionally, two victims were rescued.

The arrests were distributed across various divisions: Ramna Division (35), Lalbagh Division (30), Wari Division (46), Motijheel Division (96), Tejgaon Division (79), Mirpur Division (115), Gulshan Division (51), Uttara Division (51), detective branch (DB) (12), and Counter Terrorism & Transnational Crime (CTTC) (1). Mirpur Division recorded the highest number of arrests with 115 detainees.

DMP confirmed that legal proceedings against the detained individuals are currently underway. The operation underscores the police's ongoing efforts to combat crime and maintain law and order in the capital city.
