NARAIL, July 27 – Monir Kazi, a 48-year-old cattle trader from Kola village under Lohagara upazila, was tragically killed in a road accident on Chitra Bridge in Narail Sadar upazila this afternoon. Another person, Milon Khan, sustained severe head injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Narail Sadar Hospital.

According to police, Monir Kazi and two others were transporting cattle on a locally-made three-wheeler from Lohagara to the Bhangura cattle market. As the vehicle was ascending the bridge, Monir and another passenger struck their heads against the bridge's barrier, resulting in severe head injuries.

Local residents quickly rushed the injured to Narail Sadar Hospital, where the on-duty physician declared Monir Kazi dead. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Narail Sadar Police Station Ajay Kumar Kundu confirmed the incident and stated that the body was handed over to the victim's family following the completion of necessary legal formalities.

Road accidents remain a significant concern in Bangladesh, often resulting from inadequate infrastructure and unsafe transportation methods. This incident underscores the need for improved road safety measures and better-regulated transportation of livestock.
