At dawn on August 7, 2026, a passenger bus lost control and tragically crashed into a group of labourers in Bogura, resulting in six fatalities and multiple injuries. The incident took place in the Erulia Silkibanda area on the Bogura-Naogaon highway.
The Shah Fateh Ali Paribahan bus, en route from Dhaka to Naogaon, veered off the road and struck an electric pole before hitting the labourers. Three people were killed on the spot, while the injured were rushed to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, where three more succumbed to their injuries.
Bogura Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ibrahim Ali confirmed the incident, noting that all the victims were labourers and local residents. The identities of the deceased and injured are yet to be confirmed. Local residents assisted in rescuing the injured and transporting them to the hospital.
