Motorcyclist Dies in Tragic Road Accident Involving Bus in Naogaon

A tragic road accident claimed the life of a motorcyclist in Patnitala upazila, Naogaon.

A motorcyclist was killed in a tragic road accident in Patnitala upazila of Naogaon this morning. The deceased, identified as Shyamal Tigga, 38, from Raytara village in Akbarpur union, was struck by a passenger bus while entering the regional road from a side road. The incident occurred near the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) camp on the Nazipur-Dhamoirhat road around 11:30 am. Shyamal sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Patnitala Upazila Health Complex, where he was declared dead by the attending physician.

Local residents reported that the collision occurred as Shyamal was entering the regional road from a side road when the speeding bus hit his motorcycle, throwing him onto the road. The accident is under investigation by the Patnitala Police Station, with Officer-in-Charge Niamul Haque confirming the incident. Legal proceedings are currently underway, and the body will be handed over to the family after completing the necessary legal procedures.

Road accidents are a significant concern in Bangladesh, with numerous fatalities occurring each year. The incident highlights the urgent need for improved road safety measures and enforcement of traffic regulations to prevent such tragedies.
