In a joint operation, the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and police recovered 11,200 Yaba tablets from the cargo store of Steadfast Courier Service in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar. The Teknaf BGB Battalion, in collaboration with Teknaf Model Police Station, conducted a raid at the courier service's store in the Islamabad area of Teknaf municipality. A parcel declared as a Bluetooth speaker aroused suspicion during the search. Upon opening the device, the raiding team discovered that its electronic components had been removed and replaced with six black tape-wrapped packets containing a total of 11,200 Yaba tablets. The parcel had been sent from Narayanganj to Teknaf and was later deposited for return to the sender on the pretext of being 'incorrect'. The seized Yaba tablets are estimated to be worth Tk 33.6 lakh. The incident highlights the ongoing challenge of drug trafficking in the region and the efforts of security forces to combat it.
