On August 1, 2026, a delegation from the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1, including judges and prosecutors, visited the TFI Taskforce for Interrogation Cell at RAB-1 headquarters in Uttara, Dhaka. The visit, led by Chairman Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder, aimed to inspect the interrogation facilities. Accompanied by Chief Prosecutor Md. Aminul Islam, the team reviewed all 29 secret chambers during the visit. Also present were several ICT prosecutors, defense lawyers, human rights activists, and journalists.

The inspection was part of a routine visit to ensure that the facilities comply with legal and ethical standards for interrogating suspects. Justice Md. Shafiul Alam Mahmud and Justice Md. Mohitul Haque Enam Chowdhury were also part of the delegation. Defense lawyers such as Sanjida Islam Tuli, MP, coordinator of Mayer Dak, and human rights activist Nur Khan Liton participated in the inspection.

The TFI Taskforce for Interrogation Cell, managed by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), is crucial in the interrogation process of suspects involved in crimes under the jurisdiction of the ICT. This visit underscores the importance of maintaining transparency and accountability in the judicial process in Bangladesh.

The inspection team included ICT Prosecutors Mizanul Islam, Gazi M H Tamim, Faruk Ahmad, Shaikh Mahdi, Shahidul Islam Sardar, and Tasmirul Islam. The presence of these legal experts and human rights advocates highlights the collaborative approach in ensuring fair and lawful interrogation practices.

This visit is significant for Bangladesh as it reaffirms the commitment to uphold justice and due process in dealing with international crimes. The judiciary's transparency in reviewing interrogation facilities is a positive step towards maintaining public trust in the legal system.
